Feb Wrap Up!

Ok, so i know its basically mid march, but I have been a busy, busy girl...regardless, here is my Feb wrap up!

I really didn't do much, and its kind of a short month. I coached a ton and worked a ton....but here are the fun things I did manage to do.

Rock Band! We had a 80s themed rock band party just for fun...and fun it was! We rocked it out until the wee hours of the morning.

Road Trip! Me and Jim joined forces with another Winnipeg Handball team that was going to a tournament in Regina for the weekend. We played, drank, got bruised/broken/beaten and it was all n all a great time!!

On the way to Regina, we stopped in Moosomin for GAS and a rest room break....BUT the gas stations rest room was out of order so we had to go to DQ next door...BUT you couldn't just pee and flee so I had to buy a ice cream. haha.

Against Saskatchewan, I rolled my ankle, (which rolls about a million times a season) and I didn't have an ice pack, but I did find freezies. I call this invention 'ice n eat'.

I got to ref some of the games in the tournament (yay beer money!) So here I am giving Jim a red card for lookin sooo good after playing 3 games and reffing 2 that day.

Jim, me and the team we joined up with.

Finally, going home...lookin a little rough. hahaha.

so yeah, nothin too razzle dazzle in February. Mainly stayed inside...March is already way more of a gong show so stay tuned :)

January Wrap Up

Ok, so I'm gonna try to do a monthly update on my blog here but I am sooo busy! I will try my darndest though and so far I'm one for one because this is my January Report:

Moved my box! My box is gone, I moved it out the first weekend in January and started my holiday vacation.

Went to Vegas! For a week, it was a lot of fun and I got to visit with my team mate Heather who is working in Vegas until April. I did a TON of shopping cause I'm a girl with money so thats how I roll. haha! I got to do a lot of walking too and pretty much explored every hotel (and every mall) my favorite hotel is the Wynn...I would totally stay there next time I go.

Mini Golf/Malanka Celebration: I celebrated Ukrainian new years by going mini glow golf with some of my closest friends, we had a great time even though it wasn't the best display of putting.

Super Hero Party: My buddy had a super hero themed birthday party and i went as super hump...my super power was dry humping (as the photo proudly shows) It was a gong show and a lot of fun and a great excuse to dry hump everyone. haha!

Being a nerd: Back to being a nerd, its freezing here (-50C all week this week) so now I've been finishing my website, I'm having problems with my web site host though because they are upgrading platforms and none of my dynamic pages are working on the new platform so now I have to go and reconfigure everything.....baaaaah!

My 2007 Wrap Up!

To those of you who wanna know what went down in 07' for me heres my 2007 wrap up!

Traveling: I traveled both near and far in 2007...I was lucky enough to go to...

Ireland, me and my best friend Jaimie went to visit my buddy Nick and we had a gong show of a time while we were there (read: not a day went by without a guiness in my hand...)

Switzerland, to visit my beautiful friend Lynda: who played football with me before she moved to Luzern.

Needless to say, we were a gong show and had a lot of fun until the gong show of all gong shows....

In Milano, Italy...where I learned that 'Grappa' truly is crappa...ugh! Worst...drink...ever... and then we also learned that beer is like 8 euros, so the cheapest thing to drink were shots of rum with pear chasers... (as seen above) surprised I didn't die that night.

Apparently on top of mount Pilatus...I figured I needed more cowbell...

It was a fun trip, I would like to go back one day in the near future.

New Family Member:

My family adopted a cute little mutt...Her name is Ella and she's rott, husky and lab cross...but she's a very cute little girl. This was taken in June so she's a little bigger now and still a brat.

Camp 07:

Yep, we worked camp again, my mom keeps on saying its her last year but here we are again, year after year (and still having fun...) This year I implemented a happy meter.

Football Gong Show:

My team decided to go be a gong show in Regina again this year, and once again, we were a gong show.

GONG SHOW 2007:

My friend Shanna was leaving to Australia and I wanted to give her a going away party that she wouldn't forget...of course the going away party was just her and me being ridiculous but it was fun...

And she passed out so I was upset..

And I may have decorated her with plants, etc...

Halloween 07:

I wasn't home for halloween, but that didn't stop me from going to a halloween social...me and Jaimie's bf were both Fairies...pink fairies to be exact! His legs looked waaay better than mine but I beat him up top :)

New York, New York!

I was part of a trade show in New York in October. New York is an amazing city
so I will definitely be back!

Me on my box.

I was there on Halloween...best...halloween...costumes...ever!

For some reason, I thought this was appropriate... :)

My box in Winnipeg:

I opened my kiosk again for the Christmas months...Lots of work, but I got Christmas and New Years off so that was a nice rest....and I'm done in 4 days! woo woo! And then its off to Vegas for a week!

Happy 2008 to all! Hope you all have a great year!

Random Photos of Oddness

My family...is...well...a pretty funny family so here are some photos of our trip.

At least you guys know that its not just me now...it runs in the family...

Making a mockery of the lifeboat drill.

Hoping to run into some seamen...hahaha.

Making a mockery of a certain Titanic scene.

My dad couldn't figure out his chefs hat.

I couldn't resist...

My dad pretending he was locked up.

My brothers with their 'dates'...they were mocking the couples we found all making out along the beach.

A coconut...(I'll save you all from my witty commentary here)

Me and my bros with our serving guys Made, Dino and Nixon (who were all awesome)

And my brother Jord beating his sis (who may or may have not been drunk, but judging by how I forgot to use my legs at my first handball game back...I'll say drunk) and Chris in a post dinner scrabble match.

Thats all I got, now I gotta jett to practice.

Part 2: Ports of Call

(Those bratty brothers of mine do clean up nicely)

We had a wonderful time visiting some of the ports of call on our cruise.

(me with this guy who owned an ass farm and Oprah (his ass)...he actually is originally from Minnesota)

In St.Thomas, it was a pain to get to the downtown area, but when we did there was some really great shopping. The markets were disappointing to me though, don't try to sell me a knock off Coach bag for 70 bucks telling me that the materials used are genuine leather. I just totally scored at a Coach outlet back home and bought a gorgeous (and genuine) bag for 130...so...I wasn't sold on the cheapo bags. Aaaand to make matters worse, they wouldn't even negotiate.

Dominica was the least commerical of all the ports. As you can see on our faces, we were feelin a little awkward in this photo because there was a homless lady peeing like 10 feet away from us behind a tree and we didn't notice until we got down there...and my mom didn't realize as she was taking the photo...and I Jordan didn't even really notice till we whispered it to him.

My mom and I went tubing down the river here, and it was an absolute blast! I was laughing my ass off the whole time cause most of the people going down the 'class 3 rapids'(...I'm not kidding, they were not like Red Lake Falls thats for sure) were older people...and they were getting bashed all over the place, my aunties tube exploded on a rock, some guy went down the wrong path and basically had to go over some falls...hilarous.

In Curaco, I bought booze. (curaco liquor for like 5 bucks a bottle) This was my favorite port because the Holland influence and the pretty buildings. (ha, I'm such a girl) It had a really cool bridge that changed colors at night too.

Our ship didn't leave till late, so we went to a piano bar to have some bevvies. The bevvies were strong, not watered down like back home so needless to say a strong bevvie + me being a cheap drunk was a good time. My aunt decided to get creative and have a 'photo shoot' on this path that had cool lighting.

Aruba we hit the beach. It was a very beautiful beach, the sun was out, the water was nice...and despite me telling my family...'ok, time to get outta the water, you'll all be burnt to a crisp' the didn't heed my warning and got burnt. But at least they had fun :)

More to come.

Part 1: Havin fun and stayin in shape.

The first few days of our trip were very good. I only lost my camera once (I found it though, left it on the bus...brilliant.) and only 'thought' I lost my passport once…

It was my brothers first time on a plane so they were going through the ‘stages’ as they called it. The first was excitement “woo we’re going on a plane”, the second was denial “I’m not scared”, the third was fear “holy @(! I’m getting on a plane” and the fourth (which we didn’t get to thank goodness) was puking. They both did very well.

I went to what I like to call “the happiest place on Earth” (well, it’s a close second to my hometown...which I normally dub the happiest place on Earth cause I live there). What is this place you ask? It is Saw Grass Mills outlet mall. Amazing. I bought 8 shirts/dresses for 30 bucks. Who does that? My word. And as if I need more clothes right Jaimiesson? Hahaha.

My brother Chris also scored…its hard not too with amazing stores like Lacoste and Banana Republic are at discount prices. (which I also bought things at….hahaha…more clothes)

Our driver was this firecracker of a lady named Jessica who was originally from Puerto Rico. Not only was she fantastic at telling stories but she drove like a bat outta hell on those turnpikes.

I told my ladies at home that I would be all fat and slow for handball when I got back...but as you can see, I seem to have found a 'loop hole'...I can drink and be active at the same time whilllle still looking classy.

hahaha..ok, maybe not classy...

More to come. :)

My Favorite Little Guy

Is Duran, my little cousin who just turned 3. He is related to me from both my mom and my dads side (his dad is cousins with my dad and his mom is cousins with my mom). This little guy is by far one of the brightest and insightful little kids and as everyone knows I love kids.

What I love most about kids is their honesty. Although sometimes brutal, its always refreshing to interact with young children cause they don't know the pros and cons of being dishonest yet. Unfortunately, it is a trait that everyone learns as they mature.

Having progressed from being a kid (being 25, I'm obviously not a kid anymore) I'm amazed by how many 'adults' I know that have lost their ability to be honest with people and more importantly with themselves. So many people try to be things that they are not. They copy a look or attitude because they think its how to fit in with the rest of society rather than just being themselves. There are people who become 'doctors' or 'lawyers' or other professional types because they are taken in by the status and the monitary awards instead of because that is what makes them truely happy...to me, this isn't how to live life, there is more to life than status and money...where's the fun? the excitement? the joy? Its definetly not there when you finally realize that all the hard work you put into something was for the wrong reasons because you never actually took the time to listen to yourself all those years ago when you were young.

I'm sometimes seen as 'kid like' but I've come to the realization that its because I am myself and the Heather I was as a kid is the Heather I am now.

I'm someone who has the capasity to think, yet usually does whatever my stubborn heart/gut tells me to do. I'm very in tune with who I am and I know what/who makes me happy but am also never afraid to take a leap of faith or a risk. I find when I think, I over think so its best to keep the thinking for academic purposes and just do what feels right to me. I find when I make my life plans too rigid, it leads to disappointment so I always have 'goals' but the particulars as to how I get to achieve them I leave hidden for me to discover along the way. Afterall, life is all about the journey.

So, Happy Birthday Duran! You have a fun and exciting journey ahead of you!

Jaimie's Mulligan!

Happy Birthday Jaimie! Well, happy very belated birthday because it was on December 21st...but with the Christmas and New Year plans and having to sit in my box for two months, well, we kinda didn't get a chance to get out for a night on the town.

So now we did! Jaimie, Di, Carrie and Me went to Coyotes and then to Dylans for some drinkin, dancin, and handball back bonding (we're all backs on the wildcats).

Carrie and Jaimie being 'Mckay sexy' with their drinks

Me and Di being 'Mckay sexy' as well

Best Dance Photos of the night

Me and my buddy Jaimie...sure we look sweet...but who knew that only 5 hours later I'd clock her in the head with a kg of cat food. (which you deserved Jaimiessson!) hahahahahaa!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Yyyyyessss! I'm outta the box!

Yessss! I had a real good experience from setting up my own kiosk, lots of exposure and the extra cash flow was nice too.

Yes! and I had a really nice new years, my Jaimie and my friend Lynda went to The Park Theatre for a studio 54 themed party. It was a great time!

And me and Jaimie are planning on going to Europe this year to visit Lynda. Woo!

Hope everyone had a great New Years and a great Christmas!

Its beeeen a while!

Yes, yes, I've been a busy busy girl lately with my kiosk. I go to my box for 9:30 am...work till 9:30 pm and then go home and fuse/solder and then I sleep. This seems to be the routine right now but I'm doin alright!

I owe my buddy Jaimie a lot for coming to work in my box. She gives me a much needed break when I need it most and think I'm going to throw jewelry at people who ask if my jewelry is actually candy.

Another lady thought she could make my dichro pendants by melting crayons and 'medal' in an oven.

And another wanted to take photos so she could copy them.

And I got hit on by this ghetto gangsta who must have been about 18 years old and hopped up on goofballs.

All n' all its good fun! Here is a pic of me and my "employee of the month" at our "Christmas Party". (aka...we curled our hair, dressed like girls and went to a social then the bar)

Ciao for now!

Ode To My Family

(pic of me being a moron and my little cousin not wanting to be seen with me...hahaha)

But seriously, I am truely blessed to have such a great family. My mom is my best friend, my dad is a hard working and very moral man, and my brothers are both very intelligent, funny, fine young men that I am proud of.

I love my Baba. She does not have a mean bone in her body and treats everyone with the dignity and respect that they deserve. She is hard working, wise, and very modest...an all around class act and she is my idol.

My aunt and uncles are wonderful as well. We are closer to my moms side of the family so her brother and sister's families are considered to be our 'family unit'. Every function is always full of laughs and always involve either a stupid sing along, 'canasta fiesta', touch football game or just really good conversation.

Of course my cousins are also very dear to me. My two youngest cousins are my little sisters and I am happy that we are able to share all sorts of stories and secrets with each other. I'm sure they think I'm nuts for the most part, but the love me regardless. :)

So maybe I sucked in toooo many soldering fumes just now...or maybe the wedding we attended this weekend made me see how truely blessed I am to have such a great family. That said...I now feel like I can go back to doing more soldering...big sale this weekend.

Oh, and those of you who are interested in buying some of my wares...shoot me an email at h_sender@hotmail.com and I'll fix you up with a username and password to my site.

ciao for now!

A kiosk?

Thaaats riiight! I'm opening a kiosk in St.Vital Shopping Center for November and December! This would be the reason why I'm even more busy than usual.

I'm working on the kiosk design right now and I met with the leasing agent to go over the contract so its basically a total go!

Yay!

Now I have to make jewelry...lots of it.

Hmmmm...what else? I'm in a wedding tomorrow...its my cousins and we're all very excited....I'll post pics of that up here when I get them.

But I also have a playoff game for football tomorrow at 9am...hopefully I don't do something stupid like get a black eye or broken leg...that would just be dandy if I walked down the aisle like that! I also get to sing at the wedding...two songs, one religious and I do my own rendition of "Everything I do..." by Brian Adams...it sounds pretty nice I think.

OK, I'm outs! Ciao for now and everyone have a great weekend!
